Siberian Geranium is similar to Nepal Geranium but more flaccid and branched; also differs in having shallowly notched petals, upper leaves leaf-stalked, narrower segments. Flower-cluster-stalk is generally 1-flowered, that of Nepal Geranium is generally two-flowered. Sepals are 4-5 mm long, elliptic-ovate, awn 1-2 mm long. Petals about the size of sepals, shallowly notched. Stems are 1-3, spreading, prostrate. Leaves are palmately-5-parted, 2-2.5 x 3.5-7.5 cm, velvet-hairy; segments narrow rhomboid, pinnately cut into lanceshaped pointed lobes. Leaf-stalks are up to 6 cm long, dense patent velvet-hairy at the base of blade. Inflorescence is diffuse amongst the upper leaves. Siberian Geranium is found in Romania to Temperate Asia, including the Himalayas, at altitudes of 2000-4000 m. Flowering: June-July.
